Even if you are still far from retirement a portion of your 401(k) assets may be eligible for a Rollover IRA. If you are a salaried employee, in most cases, a portion of your 401(k) assets is available for a Rollover IRA while you are still actively employed. For anyone over age 59½, even if you are still working your 401(k) assets are eligible for a Rollover IRA. Rolling over all or part of your 401(k) assets to a Rollover IRA is a non-taxable event that opens up a world of investment opportunities.
