Visteon Ordered to Restore Retiree Benefits

A judge’s ruling to allow Visteon to discontinue benefits for some 6,500 retired Visteon workers was overturned in July by the Third U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The appeals court ordered immediate restoration of benefits for both the salaried and hourly retired workers. In addition, the appeals court also ordered that the restoration be retroactive to the day the retiree benefits were cut off.
